Big Mouth Toys is a small ‘boutique’ designer and manufacturer of creative humorous products. Since I was a kid I always loved mail order catalogs. My favorite was The Johnson Smith catalog, a 100 year old novelty catalog that still exists today. I would use my paper route money, convince my parents to make out a check, and anxiously await things like my spooky sounds record or my giant tooth brush. Fond of practical jokes and pranks, I have always been known by friends as a clown, and in fact in the 80’s my high school voted me class clown. After suffering in a corporate technology / accounting job for 12 years, I started PrankPlace.com, a website to sell funny silly pranks and gags.
In 2004 I wanted to expand our product line to custom items I designed and manufactured, but I needed a brand name to differentiate our products from my retail website. I have been told I am a BIG MOUTH by more people in authority then I could count, so it seemed like an appropriate name. My first product, The Get Off The Phone Excuse Machine, was a tremendous success and I had a lot of fun promoting it at The New York International Toy Fair that same year. I was really excited when the product was featured on Jay Leno’s The Tonight Show, and Regis & Kelly later that year.
Today Big Mouth Toys boasts over 200 products and has hundreds of customers around the globe both big and small. We constantly are developing new fun and entertaining novelty items, so please check back often.
